Hello! I am Oliver and I am a Technical Computer Science student who plans to start the Data Science master next year. I have been active at the university for many years, mainly through study association Inter-Actief, where I did a board year last year. This year, I joined the university council, and I have enjoyed the opportunity to represent students at the highest level of policy-making, so I would love to continue doing that for another year. The UT needs a long-term vision in which high-quality education and support for student activism are placed at the center, and I plan to keep helping with realising that!

Hi! I’m Bonny, a third-year psychology Bachelor student. Since last year I have been very active within study association Dimensie as a Board member. Since that year I have seen what is possible as an active student within the UT and would love to develop myself further as an active student in a meaningful way for myself and others. As in line with my study, I highly value student wellbeing, but I am also very interested in improving sustainability and helping the UT strive to maintain a safe and future-proof environment for everyone.

Hi there! I’m Kai, an International Business Administration student and will be continuing to the master’s degree here at the UT! I have been widely active next to my studies, including being a Secretary & Vice-President for ESN Twente and a member of the IBA Programme Committee, as well as working closely with the Programme Management Team of IBA as a Student Assistant. By combining such experiences working with the people both inside and outside of my study and being an international student, I hope to bring a fresh perspective to the council and contribute to keeping the university welcoming to all students

Hey, I’m Guus, a Civil Engineering student and starting my master’s next year. I got into student participation during my board year where I was the officer of educational affairs of study association ConcepT. I was a regular at the Programme Committee and am currently also the vice-chairman of the Faculty Council of ET. I hope to use these experiences to keep ensuring quality education and proper quality assurance by making student voices heard at a UT-wide level. Next to that, I find it very important to protect and improve the open and personal atmosphere here at the UT.

Hello! I am Venise, a second-year Industrial Engineering and Management student. I joined the education committee in my first year and never looked back, going on to represent students in the IEM Programme Committee and serve as a Secretary for the Honours Association. Through all this, I have been learning more about the university’s educational vision, as well as the campus’ incredibly active student body. I hope to bridge these both as best as I can so that we can foster a community of driven, diverse, daring students, who can challenge their personal and professional growth within and without their main study.

Hi! I’m Ivan, an Advanced Technology student going into a third year of study. Since my first year, I’ve been active in my study association, S.A. Astatine, and now I’m Treasurer and Commissioner of Educational Affairs there. I like to keep myself busy and engaged in various parts of university life, so you can also find me TAing, getting precious ECs or doing some committee tasks. I believe in importance of student rights, because they gave me an opportunity to gain more knowledge and skills. And I see no better way to support these rights as through representing our voices at the highest levels of University’s policy and decision making. That’s why I’m more than happy to be on the UReka list for University Council.

Hey, my name is Gijs and I am a third year bachelor’s student Biomedical Engineering. Right now I am doing a board year at S.V. Paradoks, where I am Officer of Educational Affairs as wel as Internal Affairs . Next to my study I am widely involved in everything student life has to offer. In this way I found out how much there is to learn from extra curricular activities and how useful these things can be. I hope that I can use my time in the University Council to ensure student activism gets it due appreciation again, as well as making sure that education keeps it high quality.

Hello I am Ethan and I am a second-year student at the University College Twente also known as ATLAS. I am currently active in my programme, trying to make improvements on a social, educational and organisational level. Since last year I have been in the Board of student association SUSTAIN, where I have tried to build a community around sustainabilty and promote for a more sustainable UT. As a current member of the University Council, I feel responsible to represent all member of the University and work in the best interest of all parties, especially, when it comes to well-being, sustainability and financial health at the UT. I hope you will give me the honour in representing you again for another year.

Hi there! I am Timo van Beelen, currently a 22-year-old student who is finishing his bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering. During the time I have been at the UT I have not only been studying but also did some activism throughout the years. Last year I was part of the board of E.T.S.V. Scintilla as Commissioner of External and Educational Affairs, representing students’ interests within the university as well as outside of it. This year I was able to continue this within the university as part of the Faculty Council of EEMCS. In my belief active participation plays a key role in good education. Not just by being active outside of the study, but maybe more importantly that students can actively engage with their studies through close contact with teachers and a focus on learning together. If you share this view, I am more than happy to be able to represent you within any particatory body.

Hi! My name is Anne van der Kolk. I just finished my bachelor’s in Health Sciences and will continue with a master’s in Educational Science and Technology. During my time here at the UT, I’ve been a member of my program committee for three years, served as the commissioner of educational affairs for study association Sirius and am currently part of the faculty council S&T. My experience has taught me the importance of effective communication and collaboration between students, programmes, and faculties, I have also seen firsthand the impact that student feedback can have on improving the quality of education. I believe that my experience and perspective will enable me to contribute meaningfully to the council’s efforts to enhance the academic experience for all students.
