Hey there! I am Max de Vries and I am a fourth year Civil Engineering student. Besides my study, I have been active at my Study Association ConcepT in several committees and in 2019 I was part of the board of ConcepT. In this role I experienced the importance of students getting involved in UT-wide policy. They are the first to mention changes in that policy, with the change to TEM 2.0 as the most recent and drastic example. In the future the UT has to cope with more challenges as well. Subjects like sustainable growth of the University, student well-being and internationalisation are all represented in UT policy. I want to start working on those, and more, subjects and build the future of the University together with you!

Hey everyone! My name is Alina Ritter and I study International Business Administration. In my four years at the university, I have experienced a lot of different sides of the UT. Currently, I am the chairman of my study association Stress. Before that, I have been active in lots of different fields. I did committees and a board year with my association Chassé and founded InSPE, a foundation for cultural collaborations. Student activism is only one of the things the university has to offer to support the individual development of their students. To me, it is really important that every student feels welcome at the university and can make use of the opportunities that fit their personal development the best. The UT should be a place where you feel welcome to learn and grow, in short: Make UT your University.

My name is Maarten Bonnema and I’m a fourth year Electrical Engineering student. During my studies, I became curious about organisational structures and interested in politics. When I started my studies I got involved in educational committees and joined the programme committee. Currently, I am the secretary of Scintilla, the study association for Electrical Engineering and affiliated masters, and chairman of the faculty council of EEMCS. Often I have noticed that an increased amount of matters can only be dealt with properly at its roots, the central level. Topics which I will focus on are the Quality Agreements, clear communication between the university and its students, and sufficient availability of facilities, both digital and analogue. My goal in the Council is to enhance your study and student experience, enabling your full potential!

Hi! My name is Kevin Witlox and I am a fourth year Technical Computer Science student here at the UT. As an active student I have experienced all our beautiful campus has to offer. Having learnt the finner details of our University as a full-time board member at my study association, I now want put my knowledge to use for the betterment of our community. Our University has made great strides over the years, and we are seeing our University grow because of it. My goal will be to maintain the high standards we are used to here at our University, even whilst undergoing drastic changes, and to make sure our students are put first.

My name is Margo Dietrich. I am a first year student in the University College, studying Technology, Liberal Arts and Science. As an American who grew up in Senegal and Ghana and now calls Berlin home, I understand what it is like to move and acclimate to new communities. I hope to use my experience to strengthen transitions and community within the UT. It’s important to me as an international student that all students feel they are represented and have a voice. I hope to emphasize clear communication and strengthen student representation in the UT. I believe that there is always a solution to any problem, and when we work together, we can find it.

I am Sjoerd, currently a third year student at Electrical Engineering. I find that doing more in your student-life than just passing your degrees is something that characterizes the University of Twente. For myself, I have strived to make the out of my time here by doing a full-time board year at E.T.S.V. Scintilla. In my role as Educational Officer at Scintilla I have learned a lot about the educational policies of the University of Twente, and this has caught my interest. My goal is to make activism widely accessible to all students, and to have an educational policy that gives students the freedom to be ambitous and discover their talents.

Hi! My name is Tirza Rutten and I am a first year Creative Technology student. CreaTe is not my first study at the University, I also did two years of Technical Medicine. Because of this change I have experience in more than one faculty. I am also active at a variety of associations, for example Proto and D.Z. Euros. My intersest are wide spread and that is the reason I came across some problems I wanted to tackle. I want to focus on a fair system to acknowledge student activism. I think this may also improve the students well-being by giving more time for your interest and ambitions. Eventually we will create strong students!

Hey hello! My name is Roos Uijthof and I am a second year biomedical engineering student. In my first two years as a student I have been active in my study association and the education quality committee where I have learned that balance and communication is all important. We want the best possible education, but also enough free time to develop ourselves next to our studies or become active somewhere else! My goal in the university counsel would be that every decision works for every student and that these decision are communicated to us. Because we need to know, we need to have the ability to voice our opinions, because it’s our life!
